Welcome to Continental Baptist Church. We are a Bible-centered, family-friendly church in NW Tucson. We meet at the Coyote Trail School cafeteria.

Continental welcomes people from all faiths and church backgrounds. We are a non-denominational church, meaning we do not belong to any national or international religious organization. Instead, we function independent of external control and therefore make our own decisions as to leadership selection, financial planning, program development, etc. This appears to be how the earliest churches functioned (see Acts 6:1-6, Rev. 2-3, et. al.). Continental is also a Baptist church. That means that our understanding of the Bible aligns closest with the faith statements made by Baptists in the past. These included: 1) the Bible as the only standard for faith and practice, 2) the autonomy of the local church, 3) the access of each believer directly to God through Jesus, 4) individual liberty to determine God’s will, 5) baptism and church membership limited to converted persons only, and 6) the church and the state have separate realms of authority. (Again, we share no loyalty to a Baptist organization or convention.) Our worship style is different on purpose. We emphasize both congregational singing and Bible teaching. Most would call us a “traditional church.” Because God gave us the gift of music we believe we must carefully steward that trust. In worship especially, we believe God’s pleasure precedes our own. Since He is separate from sin (holy), spiritual, and structured (orderly), we believe worship music should have these same traits. To make much of Him, we strive for a sound that differs significantly from music preferred by the world. (If you would like to know more, a one-page policy statement on music is available upon request.) Our church’s mission is to make a big deal about Jesus by participating in His worship; by maturing in His Word; and by witnessing to our world. Presently, the Lord has given us a number of ways to fulfill our mission to our church family and community. Here are several of the programs we currently offer: • Nursery (ages newborn-4) • Age-divided Sunday School • Teen Bible Class & Activities • Children’s Church (ages 4-10) • Good News Club at Coyote Trail • Weekly home-based Bible Studies • Weekly Martial Arts Class • Monthly Family Nights • Fellowship/coffee Table • GROW Outreach (reaching new-movers) • Website & social media If you would like to know more about who we are or what we do, feel free to contact us at any time.
